History of the Dante Alighieri Committee of Stavanger (2015-2025)
The Dante Alighieri Committee of Stavanger was founded in September 2015 by its first 25 founding members.
The inaugural president is Martine Bolognini, with a board of directors comprising Alessia Galfano (Vice President), Per Morten Haarr, Rune Norheim, Bergljot Holsen (secretary), Alessia Fanti Paulsen, Tord Paulsen, Giovanni Luca Monachese, Gina Riquetti, Elena Redaelli and Giorgio Patterini (Treasurer).
The first conference is in October, with the participation of the Italian Ambasssador Giorgio Novello.

In 2016, Dante Stavanger began its cultural activities by organizing six events and launching its first Italian language courses, taught by Jonathan Massaro. Elena Redaelli and Giorgio Patterini stepped down from the board and were succeeded by Carlo Guadalupi and Tiziana Cavagnoli (Treasurer). That year, Dante Stavanger joined the Cultural Network Dante Norway and initiated a collaboration with IKiS, including a joint membership option. Giovanni Luca Monachese assumed responsibility for the connection between Dante and IKiS.

In 2017, Alessia Fanti Paulsen, Tord Paulsen, and Gina Riquetti left the board, while Claudio Visentin joined.
Francesco Sanfilippo contributed by setting up the association’s website and Facebook page. Dante Stavanger organized five cultural events in collaboration with the Network Dante Norway and two independently.
Additionally, Dante and IKiS coordinated celebrations for the Italian Republic Day.

In 2018, Tone Inger Moen Bourrec was elected president, Mona Sele joined as secretary, and Claudio Visentin took charge of communications, focusing on Facebook and Instagram. Carlo Guadalupi left the board.
Dante Stavanger organized five cultural events with the Network Dante Norway.
Dante Stavanger also hosted the annual meeting of the Network Dante Norway.

In 2019, Dante Stavanger organized five cultural events with the Network Dante Norway and one independently. A partnership was formalized with the University Uninettuno, making Dante Stavanger the official exam center for Norway.

In 2020, Claudio Visentin was elected president. Giuseppe Di Pinto and Eliana Ricca joined the board, while Bergljot Olsen, Martine Bolognini, and Giovanni Luca Monachese departed. Giuseppe Di Pinto took over the liaison role with IKiS. Although six cultural events were planned with the Cultural Network Dante Norway, all were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, along with the Italian language courses. Only one event was held partially online.
​In 2021, due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, Dante Stavanger hold only one event, however the Italian language courses resumed in a hybrid format.

In 2022, Dante Stavanger organized five cultural events with the Network Dante Norway and two independently, including a dinner at the Stavanger Konserthus featuring the operas of Giacomo Puccini.

In 2023, Giuseppe Di Pinto and Tiziana Cavagnoli left the board, and Donatella Mellere joined.
The committee organized five cultural events with the Cultural Network Dante Norway and three independently, launching the "Geology and Wine" series focused on Veneto, Piedmont, and Tuscany.

In 2024, Tone Inger Moen Bourrec stepped down, and Ilaria Maria Scolletta Olsen joined the board as Treasurer.
Dante Stavanger organized five cultural events with the Network Dante Norway and four independently, including two more "Geology and Wine" events centered on Western Sicily and Romagna. Dante and IKiS also coordinated the celebration of the Italian Republic Day.

In 2025, Dante Stavanger held five cultural events with the Cultural Network Dante Norway and three independently, continuing the "Geology and Wine" series with Eastern Sicily and Friuli. The Italian Republic Day was again celebrated in collaboration with IKiS.
​
Later in 2025, the merger between Dante Stavanger and IKiS was finalized, forming the new association Dante-IKiS.
